The current style of DVLA registrations

The currently used DVLA registrations style was introduced in September of 2001.The arrangement of letters and numbers in the plate follows the following pattern- two letters, then two digits, then again three letters. However, exception does exist. You cannot use the letter I, Q and Z. It has also to be taken care of while choosing a number plate. That is, you cannot use a number plate with a vehicle if it makes the vehicle appear newer than what it actually is. Some example of newer designs are ‘TH07 OMS’ and ‘TO57OLS’.More personalised is the number plate, more will be the cost.

Prefix number plates are currently the most bought accessory. It prefixes the DVLA registrations number with a letter that indicates the year in which that registration number was issued. This is followed by three letters; the previously cited exception applies here too. The current trend that DVLA registrations use is to withheld the number plates having desirable combinations and releasing them later thus increasing their monetary value by millions. Later, the plates are auctioned at higher rates. Prefixed number plates do have values. The plates in which 3 letters make abbreviated names, have much higher value than general ones(for e.g. TOM,SUI etc).Gather adequate information from DVLA or any other registered supplier in order to buy prefix DVLA registrations.
